Don`t put those Witch and Warlock costumes away just yet... this is another FREE costume party and we`re hoping to see some awesome witchy creativity as we meld the Spooky Season of Halloween with the 12th Annual Murphys Day of the Dead, aka: Dia de Los Muertos.

While this is NOT a #MurphysWitchWalk-produced event, the Murphys Day of the Dead features traditional artisan vendors, food, drink, and a community altar in the Park, and, as always, the Murphys business community, who simply adores all you witches and would like you back every weekend, will be displaying ofrendas honoring those who we have lost but are still with us in spirit.

The #MurphysDayoftheDead will feature live entertainment, along with the Catrin/Catrina contest, and expanded activities for the whole family.

It`s not like you need another reason to get all gussied up and adorned in costume to come back to Murphys, but this one is as good as any. Let`s see what kind of creative hybrid witch-meets-traditional sugar skull costuming you can put together for the costume contest.

It’s about … on the Hilltop

I had been sharing this week with another local photographer about sun angles. I learned more about them when I had been doing a lot of Fine Art.

Especially as we shift toward winter, the sun’s angle has to be noticed. In this project I had to identify the planed sun angle for the morning we were shooting, to obtain the best visual effect.

Joking – some people think photographers just show up and shoot…. I plan ahead for best images.

A little over 2 years ago on Aug 18th 2020, Chad and Todd went and picked up our new #centurionfi23 from #hillsidepowersports in Lakeport. There was a fire goin going on around us. #lnulightningcomplexfire The boys dropped her in the parking lot of #markleycoveresort Within 24 hours, the resort was gone. Our store, our cabins, our gas dock, and our entire #berryessawatersports fleet was destroyed. Except for one… #Ash. Within 3 days, we had her in the water at #newmelones surfing our hearts out 🏄🏽‍♂️ She then joined our #boatclub fleet and took care of our valuable members for 2 years. Today, Chad and I surfed behind her for our last time. She’s going to be detailed and put up for sale to go to her new owners. I hope the new owners will know the story of Ash. Thank you for your service young lady 🏄🏽‍♂️🏄🏽‍♂️ ...
