To make the most out of your group’s visit to Calaveras County, we put together a selection of offers that are sure to make your Gold Country vacation extra memorable. Good times, extraordinary memories and endless laughs are guaranteed!

Dear Wagon and Trail Masters!

Thank you for the opportunity to host you and your group! As the owner of Angels Camp RV Resort, I’ve learned that the combination of our beautiful location, the many recreational opportunities in the area, and our attentive staff makes our park an attractive destination for many groups. I’ve also heard from Wagon Masters and group leaders that they would be interested in visiting us outside the one or two trips the group has scheduled on the annual calendar.

Well, you asked and we answered! This winter season, we’re excited to offer Group Day Tours, starting with Wine, Food and History Tours. We aim to expand our horizons and provide you with new experiences that cater to you and your particular group.

Take a look, call me to discuss and come on over! We look forward to welcoming you and your group again soon.

Sincerely,

Johnathan Tal

#3. History Tour

Visit the historic Gold Rush towns of Murphys and Angels Camp! A stroll down Murphys’ tree-lined Main Street transports visitors back to the mid-1800s, with buildings bearing thick stone walls, iron shutters, and pastoral gardens with white picket fences. Angel’s Camp, best known as the location of the Jumping Frog Jubilee made famous by Mark Twain in his story “The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras,” is also home to one of the most picturesque downtowns in California’s Gold Country. We’ll explore the magical streets and historic buildings of these charming towns nestled in the beautiful Sierra Foothills.

History Tour Agenda:

  1. Murphys Old Timers Museum
The history of the Old Timers Museum dates back to 1856, when Peter L. Traver, a Gold Rush miner, opened a general merchandise store. The museum’s artifacts tell the story of the Murphys area, especially of the Gold Rush period and of the Native American and other cultures that once prospered there.
  2. Angels Camp Historic Museum
